Peace – It’s In There

No one can get inner peace by pouncing on it.
~ Harry Emerson Fosdick

Does your seeking for peace look like this?

Do you force yourself into a pose on a huge exhale during an asana practice? Do you resolutely shove every drifting thought out of your mind in meditation? During pranayama, is your brow furrowed with concentration? Ah, grasshopper, you are fighting yourself. Your peace is already there, your job is to let it unfurl, to gently sweep away what blocks it from the light. Can you see it as more like this?

Don’t find it. Be what you already are.

Love this. Fighting for peace will never work – inside our minds as well as outside.

So true, I have a tendency to achieve the pose rather than let it flow sometimes. Yet, I know when I take the pebble from the hand, I have become one! 😉
